Betreff: Dubai International Awards
Dear Best Practice Submitter,
I am pleased to inform you that your submission has been short-listed by the independent Technical Advisory Committee as one of the 40 best practices to be submitted to the Jury for the Dubai International Award for Best Practices. The Committee met from 22-26 May in Guangzhou, China. It was comprised of 14 experts representing all major regions as well as all major partners of the Habitat Agenda.
Your submission was selected among 544 submissions and I should like to take this opportunity to congratulate you.
The Jury will meet 24-26 June 2002 in Naples. The members of this independent Jury will select 10 of the 40 short-listed practices to receive the prestigious Dubai International Award.
In the coming days, we will be asking you for additional material to improve your submission. This may include photos, press clippings, references and translations which will enable the Jury to work with comparable information for all 40 practices.
The results of the Jury will be announced on 27 June 2002. We will inform you immediately thereafter of the outcome. Should your initiative be selected as an Award-winning practice, you will be expected to nominate two people, preferably one male and one female, whom are directly involved in the implementation of the initiative and whom represent two different partners. These two persons will be expected to attend the Award ceremony to be held in Brussels on the occasion of World Habitat Day, 7 October 2002. In addition, they will be expected to participate actively in a one-day international seminar on Learning from Best Practices.
We will also be undertaking some minor editing of your submission and will provide you, within a few days, with a password to view your submission as it will appear on the Best Practices database as it will be presented to the Jury.
